Updated: Nov 26, 2020

Time and time again, the Ka-Panda riders have shown their passion and kindness not just to their customers, but to every Filipino. Natural calamities such as the pandemic and the typhoons that hit the Philippines have made livelihood harder but the Ka-Panda riders didn’t let that stop them. Instead, it gave them even more reasons to help out all those in need.

During the first few months of lockdown, Ka-Panda riders were quick to reach out. A charity ride was held at Mendiola last August and its success spread throughout the community. After that, Ka-Panda riders would gather and help out different communities in need. These include Quezon City, General Santos, Iloilo, Makati, Tagaytay, Davao, and more.

However, huge typhoons hit the country that also affected these Ka-Panda riders. Other Ka-Pandas quickly assembled from different cities and together with Jao Manahan, they were able to aid and do another charity ride for those affected in Marikina and Rizal.

"Sobrang hanga ako sa Ka-Panda riders natin. Isa talaga sila sa mga tunay na bayani sa pandemic na 'to" -Jao Manahan

It’s a scary time right now, but people like these Ka-Panda riders are the reason why we don’t give in to the fear. They aren’t just giving food and supplies. They are also spreading positivity, light, and most importantly, hope. With each time they help out, it shows that Filipinos can overcome anything as long as they’re together. This alone makes the Ka-Panda riders heroes.
